Wire. You head out, pick up 80m of assorted hookup in fancy colours to make a keyboard.. and it ends up in piles.. but no more! Why not just print out a spool? And since i can make it a custom object, might as well add a few extra features that I always want. In brief:
- each spool is sized for roughly 25m of AWG25 hookup (my hookup has an OD of about 2mm for reference), which is about the most i'm ever likely to want to have floating around.
- all the cutouts are 2.2mm nominal so you can thread the wire through it to hold things down neatly,
- those long cuts should give you an at-a-glance side view of how much you have left
- since they're 2.2 nom, you can also stack your spools on top of each other, just put your loose end through one of the small holes, and then whatever you shove on top? align the wire through the hole and you're good.
- there are five core-holes, so if you wanted to you could spool 2-3 or so different wires on the one. Would suggest printing more,
