For 3D Scanning I needed bright, even lighting that does not cast harsh shadows when I block it partially with the scanner. Long fluorescent tubes provide that. I found 3ft long LED shop lights at Home Depot for 10$ and decided to mount them on a DIY Tripod. The Light fixture Part number is: 305059320I scanned the head of the light fixture to make the mounts, so they will likely not work for other lights. It's a tight fit and the thin sheet metal reflector is best pushed into place using a spatula or a flat head screw driver. Once installed they are holding onto the light very tightly. All of that mounts on a simple collapsible tripod that I made from 2x 1" diameter wood dowels (Part number: 329566304). The Tripod mounts print in place and attach to the wood using a few 3/4 inch long screws. For the legs I cut one of the 4ft dowels in thirdsA Locking nut secures the folding legs in any position. You can add a drop of oil to make the threads twist smoother.I will probably use this tripod for all sort of projects. It's really sturdy and was very simple to put together.
