I have been using this site for ideas and occasional projects that are provided and I wanted to give back to this site and it's contributors with this model.
The Star Spool is designed to be used in conjunction with the mounting panel provided on the project page titled "Dremel Idea Builder Filament Spool" submitted by user "justjerms1971".
I downloaded his/her project file to use in its original form some time ago. It worked as an exterior spool holder and did so with only a little tweaking to get pieces to fit as expected - it's a fine project and well worth using.
That said - I found that it did not allow for filament de-spooling when I mounted standard 2.2K rolls on it. After trying other add-on fixes (without luck) to eliminate this issue I finally decided to design my own spool holder that would eliminate the need for these other fixes to make the original spool holder work as I needed.
