When designing things I always prefer smooth curves to straight lines - which is why all my previous Starbowl designs have been curvy - but since my starmaker routine can use either curves or straight lines to form the star shape I thought it would be interesting to see what would happen if I used straight lines instead of curves for this kind of bowl shape.
The change was simple to make (https://birkbinnard.com/blog/parametric-modeling/) and it looked pretty good on screen. But that's not the same as seeing it in real life, so I reduced the size to this small shape as a "proof of concept." I think it is a nice contrast to the curvy shapes, so I'll make a larger one for a real-world side-by-side comparison.
This little one printed in a little over 7 1/4 hours using a print speed of 100 mm/sec and a layer height of 0.200 mm.
