Stellated Buckyball Model

This is a 60-element Buckyball model, easy to construct.



You will need :

Super Glue
Some 5mm Bamboo sticks.
Soldering iron (at 205 degr. C.)
Scalpel knife
Electric wire




Instructions


Print 60 elements (infill 15-20%, supports=yes).
Use a 5mm drill bit to clear the holes on the 3 triangular sides/legs.
Cut a handfull of 5mm diameter bamboo sticks (12-15mm long) and insert them in the legs.
Assemble 5 elements (keep the triangular leg with the vertical line pointing outward) with or without glue into a module.
You can "solder" the 5 elements by slowly tracing the seam between the elements.
When 12 rings with 5 elements have been assembled, construct the buckyball - it will be about 35cm in diameter.
Keep the modules together with some electrical wire while assembling the modules.
Glue the connections held together with the wires and remove the wires one by one.
