Stop Stairing

This infinitely triply periodic staircase matrix is structured on the 8-srs structure, the 8-fold highly symmetric intergrowth of 8 equal-handed gyroid graphs.

If you scale it up by a factor of 43 you could live in it.

To build your own matrix, start with the “Stop Stairing Translation Unit” and pattern it in any direction at an interval of 50mm. Be sure to connect the staircases somehow or you’ll end up with disconnected segments.

The “Stop Stairing Fully Supported 2 x 2 Matrix” pictured above is a fully supported 2 x 2 x 2 matrix of the “Stop Stairing Translation Unit.” The floating staircase segments in the top corners have been removed. No additional supports required, but brim is advised.
