Substructure IV: The Severed Beam Beneath every great structure lies a deeper system — foundations, conduits, and mechanisms built not to be seen, but to endure. Substructure IV: The Severed Beam imagines a fragment of that hidden architecture. A monolithic containment tower rises from a reinforced plinth, its armored ribs spiraling upward around a translucent inner column. The structure appears both fractured and controlled, as if the energy once carried through the central beam has been interrupted but not fully extinguished. The twisting exterior shell suggests a stabilizing framework — a system designed to bind, redirect, or restrain forces that could not simply be allowed to run free. At the base, engraved sigils mark phases of alignment and convergence, remnants of a language whose purpose may have been more mechanical than mystical.
