Try Using a Sundial in Your City! Would you like to try using a sundial in your city? Sundials are eco-friendly timekeepers that don't require electricity. Check the time without relying on your smartphone or wristwatch. Adjusting and setting up a sundial can be an educational experience and provide an opportunity to connect with nature. I have designed a sundial with an adjustment mechanism to be used in various locations around the globe. How to Use the Sundial First, set up the sundial so that the tip of the gnomon points true north in the northern hemisphere and true south in the southern hemisphere. Next, adjust the angle of the gnomon to match the latitude of your location. The shadow will fall on the current time position on the dial. How to Assemble the Sundial Refer to the diagram for assembly instructions. If assembling the gnomon is too tight, please use Gnomon(looseVer).stl. The position of the numbers on the dial differs between the northern and southern hemispheres. Please print the appropriate data according to your location. How to Adjust the Angle The angle adjustment scale is marked in 2-degree increments. Align the desired angle with the center of the adjustment window and tighten the screw. Make sure the angle matches the latitude of your location. *Please note that this sundial does not include longitude correction, so there may be a slight error.
