So I had some Sunglasses where the lens were still good but one of the arms broke. So I decided I should 3D print some frames. NOTE: I did NOT 3D print the lens!!!!!
This was incredibly challenging.
I started with trying to make a hinge that did not need a metal pin but could still be printed as separate pieces. I designed the hinge so that they would be very strong under tension at full open, as I knew they would be used in sunglasses.
Then when I decided I needed some kind of symbol on the bridge across the nose I decided to use a Tesla logo, but for some reason openscad refused to render the stl file onto a curved surface without producing flawed STL files. So I made my own Tesla logo file.
Then everything is curved which makes measuring it very difficult.
I think that one of the lens is about a 0.5 mm smaller than the other!!! very annoying, this version I did not adjust for that so one lens fits more loosely than the other.
So.....
this is not perfect, and it is DE
