It is getting close to christmans and I was looking for some decoration. So I made a Super Mario Shining Star.
The star is hollow and has a groove for a 12V LED strip (~10mm width). I recommend a strip with 60 LEDs/m. I have used 120 LEDs/m and it is way too bright in my opinion.
Some strips generate a significant amount of heat. In this case you can use the "frame with vents". This frame has some holes which allow air circulation.
Print the star's sides at a layer hight of 0.2mm. The frame, the eyes, the pole and the stand can be printed at 0.3mm layer height (or better). Use support on the frame.
You might want to paint the seam of the stand in black to give it the look from the game.
