I designed this holder because I've lost my original etrex holder. Actually, I've lost only the clip that is fastened to the back of the device.
I found a 3D clip to be printed but I didn't find it sturdy enough for heavy vibration and also because that the 4-10 bolt that is required is also difficult to find, so I designed this one, that is very strong and it uses a commonly available materials.
Printing:
5 external layers; 80% fill; PLA
Other items needed:
One of those VGA cable fasteners, easy to find;
Bolt and nut (3/16" x 1") - I used stainless steel. You may use metric / steel.
A small washer, depending on the size of your VGA fastener.
I used a 3mm A316 (stainless steel) welding rod for the hinge pin. You my use a piece of wire or equivalent.
