These are multi-use pillars, but I primarily use them as a 'heat sink' of sorts. They can be used for:

Allowing parts time to cool - Is that thin detail (sword/spear/tip of a rocket, etc.) melting into a blob? Place one of these pillars next to your print to give that thin part time to cool between layers. Yes, it adds print time and creates waste, but it works very well. You may get stringing between the parts, but that is much easier to deal with than blobbing. I created these for printing detail on miniatures. Simply place this pillar as close as allowed to the problem area and you should see a major difference. If you still have problems either:

-Increase your part cooler fan speed - If you don't have cooling on at 100% try that first.
-Drop your print temperature - the less heat there is to dissipate the faster things will cool.
-Slow down your print speed - gives more time for the part to cool as the print head spends more time printing the pillar.
-Add another pillar -
