This is a switched power port that snaps onto a 3/8" hardwood dowel. I printed it on a raft because the parts are relatively small and there are some details that need to be accurately printed on the mating surfaces (pins and holes). In fact, there are quite a few details that should be addressed: these mostly have to do with the hardware and wiring. First of all, the socket (5.5 x 2.1mm female connector) needs to be wired before it's connected to the "SwitchPort" AND the hexagonal retainer nut need to be installed first. In one of the pictures it shows a large fastener that was used to seat the hex nut into a groove at the bottom of the SwitchPort body. It just occurred to me that 3/8" dowel would probably work as well. Anyway, the socket needs to be soldered to the incoming wire on the (red) negative pole and a short 25mm (black) jumper soldered to the positive pole (that's the short one).
