Owning a split table that pulls apart to make it bigger (by inserting a center piece), I have been frustrated by it coming apart by itself with the least amount of pressure applied to one side of it, exposing a gap in the middle. I searched Thingiverse for locking clasps but was unable to find one I felt was appropriate. So I designed this myself from scratch.
You mount each piece so that the clasp can turn (it can be quite firm) thus preventing the table from coming accidentally apart. I built 2 of these, one for each side of the table.
I used T-Glase for the base, and Nylon Bridge for the moving clasp. The Nylon has a little bit of flex and is quite slippery against the T-Glase allowing for little friction when sliding the parts together. Unless you open and close the clasp dozens of times a day, I am sure any material would work equaly well as wear due to friction should be low.
