table top spool holder

update April 1, 2019 I just split the spool in 2 half spool.stl to print x 2, ignorer to make it easier to print horizontally with no supports, and print the crosspoint.stl to align when gluing.


Here is my version of a strong but easy to print table top spool holder.

It even has 4 holes in base to screw to a surface if you like.

The cylindrical pin should fit in any spool hole and is simple to replace spools by just lifting out and dropping back in place.

Prints very easily with minimal supports needed only on TubeSHb.stl and BaseSH.stl
No supports needed on AframeSH.stl

I printed with PLA 2 outer layers and 20% infill, doesn't use much material yet is very strong.

Press fit together and then run some CA (super glue) down the edges to fix in place.
