Tactile Classroom Model

This is a tactile model of a generic classroom to help teachers to teach basic notions of Geography from the perception and recognition of what is around the visually impaired student, inside the classroom. The wind rose is used to carry the student out the classroom and to introduce him/her to the comprehension of the macroambient which surrounds his/her classroom. In order to operate this resource is necessary a perforated wood sheet for tools (20.5 x 17.5 mm and 4.0 mm hole) and a MDF sheet (41.5 x 37.0 mm).

This assistive technology was developed by the Research and Development Group of Assistive Technology of the Federal University of São Carlos (NTA / UFSCar / Sorocaba), Brazil.
