Taskmaster's shield is made of a durable material and shaped aerodynamically so that it can be thrown just like Captain Americas shield. However, since it is not made out of vibranium, it does not ricochet in predictable ways. Taskmaster therefore has to pick up the shield manually every time it is thrown. The shield also has a greater tendency to lodge itself in obstacles compared to the vibranium shield.
