Up until now I’ve used Tinkercad to draw and amend things to 3D print. I have now migrated to using Freecad and my first piece using Freecad is my interpretation of Barbara Hepworth’s sculpture Teardrop. It’s based on a front elevation photo, other elevations are based on assumptions.
The main body of the sculpture is split into two halves. I’ve included alignment holes in the two halves and pins to locate them. You will need to experiment with the scaling of the pins to get a snug fit. Similarly, there is a largen pin between the sculpture and the base, which will need experimental scaling to get a good fit. All parts to be glued for completeness.
I printed the main pieces at 15% infill. The base needs to be 100%, just to add weight.
