Technics SL-5300 hinge bracket

This is a replacement bracket for the dustcover hinge of a Technics SL-5300 turntable. Technics also used this same design for many other turntables, and it has proven to be a weak point. Over the last 40 years many of them have broken and finding a replacement is nearly impossible. So I made a repair part.

To install, remove the remnants of the old bracket, cut a notch for the replacement and drill holes for the screws. I used 4mm screws. I had this printed in black ABS and it seems quite sturdy.
