This is a tensegrity structure designed to rest your mug upon. It is quite rigid and can hold more than a kilogram of weight without much wobble. It will maintain its shape even when held sideways. Whatever it is you put on it, it will spruce up your workspace.
To aid in assembly, support structures are provided. Fishing lines are used to hold the pieces together. One line is used for each pair of struts. One line is used for the perimeter. See attached pictures for more information.
There are two endplates. One of them has slots that the coaster piece sits on. Both plates are identical (for the design with three struts) except for the slots, so you can mix and match.
The intention of the design is to print the parts in PLA (which is generally easier to print), and the coaster in ABS (which is in contact with the hot mug). The coaster is loosely detachable so it can be washed.
Print all parts with fine resolution settings. The struts fit tightly with the plates.
