This model is a fully print‑in‑place tensegrity structure designed to work using only PLA, with no assembly, no flexures, and no post‑print activation. The geometry is tuned so that the tension members land at their final working length during the print itself, allowing the sculpture to stand in its tensegrity configuration the moment it comes off the bed.
The design uses a single central bridge as the tension element. This bridge prints cleanly in midair without supports, and its natural sag and cooling behavior create the exact pre‑tension needed for the structure to stabilize. When the final layers complete, the top platform is already held in equilibrium by the bridge.
The only supports required are for the inner anchor structures that the bridge connects to. These anchors cannot be grown entirely from below, so minimal supports are used during printing.
