Tensegrity Table Marble Spiral

This project was done in SolidWorks by one of my students as part of the class joining the contest together. Due to time reasons he wasn't able to write out an explanation of his design process so I will briefly discuss how it went. Starting with some drafts on paper he came up with the project that he then translated to the computer. The first issues he encountered were related to actually printing the part it took a couple of prints to experiment with how to do supports and how many pieces to make the model. Eventually we landed on 4 pieces and support on the slide that is printed right side up as upside down posed to many bridging issues. Assembly is a pain it took us an hour of fiddling with the strings to get it right.

Project is turned in on behalf of one of my CAD students as the class is participating in the Design Challenge!
