There are multiple to build in an easy way to remove excess water from the drainage layer of a bioactive terrarium. Most require the use of silicone, or cutting the glass of your terrarium. When I built my first terrarium I opted not to any of these instead trying to just not overwater. Inevitably that backfired, and I needed a solution that wouldn't require me to disassemble my entire terrarium. This item is the solution I came up with, and it turned out well enough that I decided to use it in my next terrarium as well.
The drainpipe fits flush in the corner of a terrarium, and is designed to accommodate a 3/8in Auto-Siphon. The holes at the bottom are small enough that they should prevent most drainage substrates from getting through, and with that base that fans out at the bottom it should be unnecessary to silicone the drainpipe down.
The rock cap is designed to key into the the drainpipe, and should be able to prevent your animals from being able to get into the pipe while
