This is a Door opener/Screen toucher/button pusher optimized for minimal production time cost and post production work.
I have found I touch screens, handles, and buttons almost every time I leave the house now whether its and ATM, door, checkout screen, or elevator button and I have to assume everyone else it touching them too. The biggest hurdle I have been attempting to overcome is the screen touching feature. A lot of screens are reisistive or pressure sensitive but many are capacitive and require conduction to work. I have experimented with several designs and materials that I have around my house and have come up with an easy and cheap solution.
The part is made from PLA and has a thin layer or metallic vinyl adhered to the outer edge back to the users finger. The vinyl needs to be slightly sanded to remove the outer most protective layer to conduct correctly. The Gerber metallic vinyl I am using also requires a slight amount of heat to conform to the contoured surface. You c
