This project focuses on reducing contact with communal surfaces chiefly touch screens such as ATMs and check out screens.

My design has gone though several phases in the last few weeks but I believe I have come up with an easy and cheap design that functions well.

My current design replicates the contour of a human finger when coming in contact with a screen. The rounded tip when covered in metallic film reacts well to resistive as well as capacitive surfaces.

Start by printing the file and make sure the tip is free of defects. Next apply a layer of conductive tape to the exterior edge of the claw running back to the users finger. I have found that aluminum foil tape works well but has tendency to scratch unprotected surfaces. A better solution, if available, is metallic vinyl slightly sanded. It conforms to the contour of the claw well, when light heat is applied, and does not scratch screens.

This device also opens door handles presses buttons and pushes things.
