There are many automatic watering systems on the market, this thing is aiming to make the simplest possible watering mechanism that can reliably maintain soil moisture in a greenhouse. It doesn't provide real time phone based monitoring, or advanced logging. But it's pretty easy to make and seems to be reliable (the longest operating one I have has been running for almost a year without problems).
## Parts you need:
* laser cut the svg from 1/8"(actually 2.6mm) luan ply. I'm sure you could make one without a laser cutter too.
* a piece of fence wire
* M2.5 nuts and bolts to attach the switch
* a spade crimp
* a microswitch
* a sprinkler, solenoid valve and power supply to turn the water on.
* a piece of cellulose sponge
## Construction
assemble as per the picture. With my laser cutter and ply, no glue is required. I guess you could spray paint the ply, but I've had pieces outside for several years without trouble.
switch the solenoid using the NC (normally closed) c
