The Ember Rift

The Breach Portal – "The Ember Rift" Deep beneath a forgotten mountain, an ancient civilization discovered a way to reach other realities. They built hundreds of portals, but only one survived the catastrophe known as The Breach. The gray stone ring is forged from Riftstone, a material that exists in multiple dimensions at once. The runes around the portal constantly rearrange themselves, recording every world the portal has touched. At the center burns the Ember Core—the swirling red energy that keeps the gateway alive. Unlike normal portals, the Ember Rift does not open to a fixed destination. Instead, it connects to places where reality is weakest. During The Breach, thousands of dimensions collided. Entire cities vanished, strange creatures appeared overnight, and time itself fractured. To stop total collapse, the portal guardians shattered the gateway, leaving a permanent crack at the top of the ring. That crack was never repaired. Now, every few years, the Ember Core awakens and grows brighter. The runes begin to glow, and distant whispers can be heard from beyond the gateway. Explorers believe the portal is trying to reopen and complete the connection that was interrupted centuries ago. No one knows what lies on the other side. But every time the portal activates, one new rune appears. And one old rune disappears. "The Breach never closed. It is still searching for a way through."
