Cats have three main hobbies: Sleeping Eating Attacking things that move This object was designed to scientifically exploit point number 3. It’s a swinging cat toy with a suspended ball that moves thanks to an elastic band. The result is an unpredictable, irregular motion that is basically irresistible for any feline with at least 0.3% of their hunting instinct still operational. The cat hits the ball. The ball escapes. The ball bounces. The cat gets offended. Then it starts again. This is the eternal cycle of domestic hunting. In practice: cat hits → ball escapes → cat loses dignity → repeat. Unlike many cat toys that work for approximately 12 seconds before being ignored, the elastic band creates dynamic and unpredictable movement that keeps the cat interested for longer. Or at least long enough for you to: drink a coffee finish a 3D print or simply watch your cat fight a ball with the focus of a samurai. 🐾 What will actually happen Scenario A: Your cat will enter professional assassin mode and start hitting the ball with the speed of a caffeinated ninja. Scenario B: Your cat will completely ignore the toy and instead play with the elastic band, an invisible crumb on the floor, or your dignity. Both scenarios are perfectly normal. 🧩 Model structure The model is split into multiple parts, so it can be printed easily even without multicolor systems like ACE Pro or AMS. Plate 1 - Base Plate 2 - Arch (split into three parts) with connection pins Plate 3 - Ball The ball is attached to the arch using a simple elastic band, which creates more natural and unpredictable motion compared to a rigid connection. 🧱 Assembly Join the three arch pieces using the connection pins. Insert the arch into the base. Attach the ball to the arch with an elastic band. Done. Your cat now officially owns a personal combat arena. ⚙ Print settings Layer height: 0.20 mm (because your cat won’t notice 0.16 mm, but you will when the print takes 3 hours longer) Infill: 20% Gyroid for the base and
