The Lobster

The MMID Foundation, in co-operation with Red Lobster Divers, has developed ‘The Lobster’. A SCUBA product that will simplify the interaction between the buddy and divers with a physical disability. The Lobster makes diving safer and more fun for both the diver and buddy. The system is designed for divers with a physical disability, however it might prove to be usefull for anyone who is willing to use it.


The system has three main features:

The firm grip of the bar allows the buddy to orientate himself and the diver underwater.

The system will improve stability of the diver, this allowed one of the divers with a muscular disease to dive without the physical guidance of a buddy for the fist time in her life!

The floating strap around the inflator hose will make it float, making it easier to reach and operate for the buddy.
