The capsules are created for the different programs that make up the settlement and are designed to allow for more diverse activities than similar designs in the aerospace industry today. By taking the solid tubes and adding inflatables like I discussed earlier, I was able to almost triple the square footage from 380 sq. ft. to 1090 sq. ft. when the capsule lands. The inflatable in turn determines the smallest that the ring of capsules can be and helps to organize the settlement. The inflatable combined with the augmentation screens will also allow for teleconferencing with Earth similar to when Curiosity landed and sent back its first pictures to Times Square (albeit with a delay of between 15 and 40 min).
