The Outsiders

"Stay gold, Ponyboy, stay gold" – Johnny SE Hinton's The Outsiders was a popular novel study when I was in junior high, and they STILL teach it today. It's a classic and it's awesome. The book was made into a movie in 1983 by Francis Ford Coppola, and starred every heart throb at the time (Tom Cruise, Matt Dillon, Patrick Swayze, Rob Lowe, Emilio Estevez, Ralph Macchio, C. Thomas Howell). The story is fantastic if for no reason other than it has characters named Ponyboy and Sodapop. This is another addition to my Get Lit series of hueforges based on literature (authors, texts, movies based on books). I love the red and golden hue in this image and I think it transfers well into the print. This print uses 7 colors. I wanted to use Bronze and Gold to get that warm fire glow and it worked really well.
