My First Project where i had to really put some elbow grease and effort into it.
I printed a few different tape rollers from thingiverse, because my mom wanted different colored ones to organize her measuring tapes.
they were all great in their own ways but all had one fatal flaw. they would all break at the joint between the lid/roller and the outer shell.
the center posts would snap due to the inherent layer lines of 3d printing. so i took some measurements and channeled my inner Thanos *"fine.. ill do it myself"*
I present to you, what is probably the most over engineered tape roller on thingiverse.
The connection point between the outer shell and inner roller, uses a ball and socket joint. the base is thicker, and spread out over a wider area, to provide strength to the weak points of layer line snap-age. I also made holes for magnetic alignment in case the ball ever does snap off, the lid wont just pop open and drop the tape everywhere.
I haven't fully figured out where to get
