The Silence

Mirror is a tool to reflect the outside of oneself, but that can also be the image of how people look at the one. When one looks through the mirror, one finds a totally different self from what others see. That is because one sees oneself in the mirror and the others see that self in it. However, it also mirrors one's attitudes, values and beliefs within the person.

The design is inspired by my home country Korea’s flag, because not only of a pride, but also of the meaning it has. The yin and yang petals in the middle represent the balance of the negative and positive, embodying the truth of the mother nature that the whole creation is created and developed by the interaction between the yin and yang. The three bars at each corner also illustrate the concept of opposites and balance.

For the Korean people, including myself, their flag is a source of pride and inspiration and has been a symbol of this country's struggle for independence and freedom.
