The Ultimate Side Spool Holder

I'm a total noob in 3d editing but I have this concept.

This fitted 2 different spool sizes but I cant do what I want to make.

I want the fins to be more compliant to accommodate larger and smaller spool diameter.
suggestion:
cut the fin height by half and make it thinner and longer to make it more compliant to different sizes

and I also have a concept in mind and worked with my prototypes where I mount it on top of each other. I just glue 2 bases. but the issue is if I stack them to each other the height of the pin inside bumps on top of the other pin. Ill post some pictures once I upload this concept
