I bought a Thinkpad Docking Station (4337) for a T410 laptop that was cheap because it
had no keys.
It's impossible to get blanks to make my own key in the UK so I tried making a blank
on my 3d printer but the tolerances and dimensions were too fine to really work.
Then I had a bright idea, the lock on my desk at work was similar in size and ebay sell
similar locks and after a bit of research I bought these :

There are loads of similar locks on there and they all seem seem much the same.
You need the 16mm version and the dimensions are near to what is needed so I esigned a new plastic switch cam that goes on the back of the lock to replace the black plastic cam unit.
I printed it off in PLA at 0.2mm with supports and It requires a little filing to work
smoothly but in the end I was pleased with the outcome.
Mind you, the disassembly and re-assembly of the d
had no keys.
