Work in progress.
This is a mounting kit for a Thinkware F50 Dashcam. I did not like the permanent 3M stick mounts and wanted to use a suction cup mount. I have had good experiences with RAM mounts, so this is a direct fit kit for the 1" Ball mount. The FreeCAD models have also been uploaded. The model could be modified to be threaded without inserts, but I don't know if threading directly into the plastic will provide enough tension without stripping. This is why I used the heat-set inserts. Stainless fasteners are not required, that is just what I had on hand from another project that needed stainless. Any M3x0.5mm threaded fastener would work. I am currently trying to source a thumb screw so that I don't need an allen wrench to adjust the mount. I printed the first prototype in PLA, so I will update on how it handles the sun over time. I will upload pictures later.
Parts I used:
- 1" RAM mount
