This is a detailed 3D model inspired by the seed head of Dipsacus fullonum, commonly known as wild teasel. While often mistaken for a thistle, it actually belongs to a different plant family – but it shares the same striking, spiky geometry that makes it so visually captivating.
Part of my ongoing "Inspired by Nature" series, this design transforms botanical forms into sculptural, printable objects for artistic and decorative use.
Use it as:
A standalone sculptural object
A lampshade or light-diffusor
A fashion or jewelry concept piece
This model is a more refined evolution of my earlier concept, which you can find here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6967955. That first version explored the basic geometry of the teasel form; this one pushes the complexity and shape further toward the natural template, while staying clean and elegant.
Note: Despite the looks, this is not a true thistle – it’s a wild teasel (Dipsacus fullonum)… just in case any botanists come knocking. 😉
