I made this mini thread stand to sit on top of the existing spoolpin (snugly). Fusion autodesk file included if you want to change the diameter of the spool pin by changing the parameter name (pindiameter). This thread stand helps if you want to use cross wound spools on a vertically oriented spool pin.
