The Threshing Hammer belongs to a clade known as the fusiform tripods, a name referring to the fusion of their hindlimbs into a single structure. This particular species has a spur at the terminal end of their hindlimb and a thin, vestigial spoiler. Threshing hammers hunt by accelerating towards a prey item and then stopping, causing their body and hindleg to move upwards from the momentum. The spur focuses the force of the attack on a small surface area, usually shattering the area of the hull closest to the impact location. Threshing hammers may use this attack to easily kill small wheeled polypods, but to hunt larger cars, they form packs.
