I guess if you want to make an enchanter, tiefling is the way to go. And if you don't want to embrace that charisma bonus and choose one of the 3 1/2 kinds of charisma-based casters. I mean, you could print this guy and call him a sorcerer or warlock, and I wouldn't even know. Live your life.
