Even though the environmental footprint and total square-footage of this house is fairly small, the accessibility to the different rooms and areas in this house is not comprised. The house’s layout offers a minimized yet comfortable living, dining, and kitchen area on the main floor and a cozy bedroom on the second floor. One of the most important features in this house are slanted front and back glass walls. This design concept provides a huge benefit as it allows a substantial amount of sunlight to enter the most commonly used and important areas of the house, the living room and bedroom, since the walls on that side of the house are entirely made up of glass and are slanted forward. This feature also gives way to a cooler kitchen area since the wall on that side of the house is slanted back allowing less sunlight to enter, preventing the owner from having an overheated kitchen. This type of design holds an environmental advantage as glass, which has a much less harmful production process, is being used instead of wood for which more trees would be cut down. This design also features a slightly slanted flat roof which will put less weight on the roof from snow accumulation during winter months. Overall, the design concept behind this house will provide the owner with more natural light where it is needed and will give the house a more graceful and environmental-friendly look all in a small yet comfortable living space.
