Hi, welcome to my first published, er, thing!
I've been playing with 123D design remixing a few Tiny Trak type models, I will upload once they are done, while remixing I found it difficult to find the exact wheelbase to use for undocumented Lego tracks or even, random eBay rubber tank treads.
While I have not printed it yet, here is a tool I've just about finished (it's work in progress so things may change) to make finding the correct wheelbase easier.
1. First thing to do is print out the existing wheel models you plan to add into your model, or the wheels you have designed if working from scratch.
2. Print the motor block and idle block for the parts your plan to use in your model
3. Mount the wheels to your chosen drive and idle block and add the track.
4. Space them apart with an M8 rod and suitable nuts, or the included printable one, this would need M3 bolts added from the side to lock the rod in place you can play with the best balance between tension and moto
