Tomato Cage Clip

My area always sells out of these triangular Tomato Cages with adjustable horizontal supports. These ends will fit on the standard green stakes. They require a 1/4inch dowel you will need to cut to the desired length.

Press-fit was not a good enough convenience, so I designed the clip to fit looser on the dowel with room for gorilla glue. I use a pin nailer in each for extra hold, as weather eventually weakens the glue.

I found the ideal rod length to match my existing store-bought was 11-3//8".

In the image I show the final install it's worth noting that is backward. They should clip from the inside so the weight of a heavy Tomato does not unclip them.
