Toothpaste Syringe

School: Montville High School Material Selected: PC High Viscosity Advisory: Mr. Healy Whenever people wake up in the morning or go to sleep at night, they probably use toothpaste. The current standard of containing toothpaste in tubes leads to many difficulties that could be easily solved. That is why to eliminate the consistent issues that toothpaste tubes lead to, I decided to reinvent the way toothpaste is stored. The toothpaste syringe can perform the essential function toothpaste tubes supply every day, but without the mess or difficulties. Nearly everyone has experienced the issue of toothpaste always getting stuck between the cap and the opening. This leads to disgusting, sticky messes that can get on hands and bathroom sinks. To get rid of this problem, I decided that the solution should not have a cap, so toothpaste cannot get caught in between it and the opening. The toothpaste syringe does not require a cap because the toothpaste squeezes out smoothly and directly into the toothbrush. Another issue that often occurs is that people can never get all the toothpaste out of the tube, leaving it crumpled and disfigured looking. The toothpaste syringe also solves this problem, as like most syringes, its structure allows all the toothpaste contained within to squeeze out effectively. Messes and toothpaste losses are problems of the past now because of the toothpaste syringe. After all the toothpaste within the regular tube is squeezed out into the toothpaste syringe by removing the plunger, people will be able to discard the old tube and use the syringe instead. Unlike a traditional syringe, there is no needle sticking out of the container. Instead, there is an opening that is a perfect size for dispensing the right amount of toothpaste onto the toothbrush. The grips on the syringe allow hands of all sizes to easily press down on the plunger, so no matter what hand size a person has, he can comfortably dispense his toothpaste.
