This project is a detailed rebuild and structural study of a pre-existing mini-drone design. The original design files were created in SolidWorks by an external source. My primary goal is not to claim original design ownership, but to use this existing structure as a robust educational platform to fully explore and master the capabilities of Autodesk Fusion 360. Methodology: Top-Down Approach The entire model has been rebuilt from the ground up utilizing the Top-Down Design methodology within Fusion 360. This approach was specifically chosen to: - Enhance Modularity: Ensure all components are linked to a main Master Sketch or driven by a set of User Parameters, facilitating quick and systematic design modifications. - Improve Structure: Simulate a real-world product development scenario where key design changes cascade predictably through the assembly. - Master Fusion 360 Tools: Deepen my knowledge of core Fusion 360 features, including: -Component and Assembly Management -User Parameters and parametric modeling for rapid iteration. Learning Outcomes Through this exercise, I aim to gain deeper insights into the structural requirements and design considerations specific to small-scale drone/UAV platforms (e.g., motor mounting, component placement, structural rigidity vs. weight trade-offs). This project serves as a comprehensive demonstration of skills in CAD migration, advanced assembly management, and disciplined parametric modeling within the Fusion 360 ecosystem.
