This assembly is meant to do three things:
- Reinforce the spindle/router holder against oscillation and vibration by making the holder assembly taller (+30mm). Be aware that this removes 30mm from he the z-Axis' range of motion.
- Allowing the z-axis motion to be directly driven by the Nema 17 motor, as opposed to an offset motor driving it with a GT2 belt and an additional GT2 pulley.
- Making the z-axis cart (elevator) 4mm thicker in order for the installed router to clear the Nema17 motor at the topmost position.
These parts are meant to be used together and the original spindle/router holder assembly will not clear the Nema motor!
I'll submit adapted parts for those who want to keep the original height for the holder.
UPDATE: Just posted it!
