3D-printed travel toothbrush cover, designed for optimal functionality and portability. The cover features a ventilated structure with multiple slats, which helps maintain hygiene by allowing airflow and preventing moisture build-up inside the cover. The overall design is streamlined, focusing on ease of use and compact storage. The material used in 3D printing appears durable, with smooth, curved edges to avoid any sharp contacts when handling. The interlocking slats on the cover ensure that the toothbrush remains securely housed, while their precise spacing offers structural integrity and flexibility. The different color variations indicate that the cover can be customized in various materials or colors, depending on user preference. One key design challenge was finding a way to print the cover without support structures, which could complicate the post-processing. To address this, I added a small connector between the slats that aids in preventing overhang issues during the printing process. This design modification allows for a cleaner and more efficient print, ensuring high quality and functionality. It was particularly difficult to find an orientation where the print could be completed without supports, but adding the connector between the slats significantly improved overhang management. I have added a file, "Thootbrush-Cover-NO-Connectors.stl," without connectors, which requires support during printing.
