Tripod Leg latch

This small little attachment is designed to stay on one leg, then clip/unclip from the other to keep the tripod legs from folding open during transport. Most professional tripods come with some type of latch like this, but they inevitably break and need to be replaced. With an inexpensive solution like this, it is much less frustrating when they are broken/lost.

The biggest difference between the two versions is the size of the opening for attaching it to the leg on which it stays. In the v2 version, the gap is slightly larger to make it easier to fit onto the leg.
