This is a really nice "thermos" that I have been using for over 10 years. I am on my second one having dropped the first (glass inside) and I have a spare. It has one fatal flaw. If the spout lock gets pushed in, the contents will run out. This has happened to me a number of times with the most recent being yesterday. An entire liter of hot coffee now lives in the carpet of my car.

So, I made this little lock insert that slides in under the spout lever. With this in place, it is impossible to open the spout. I put a slot in it for a rubber band for extra security. This may not be necessary as it fits snugly and seems to lock in place nicely.
