This trick box has a hidden latch mechanism that will keep it securely closed until you twist a particular section of the lid. This remix of the original Twist Lock Trick Box (Triangle) features two new toppers and an alternate base inspired by the Legend of Zelda series! For the Triforce topper, BotW topper, and lids shown here, I changed filament colors in middle of the print. The filament change in the lid isn’t very obvious, but it creates a nice horizontal band of color that disguises the latches. All the remaining parts are available in the parent project. Printing For best results, print the spring with extra perimeters so that the "arms" of the spring are made entirely out of long lines of filament that flow with the shape of the spring. Switching out your filament color while printing the toppers is recommended to help the design stand out without painting. The Master Sword topper must be printed with supports. Assembly Assembly is the same as the original Twist Lock Trick Box. Watch this video for the complete process. Make sure to pre-tension the spring by one gear toothThis will assure that the latches have a strong hold on the base. This is also necessary for the alignment of some toppers. Make sure to glue the spring and topperIf you do not fully secure these parts, the mechanism may become detached while in a locked state. I recommend using either super glue or 3D Gloop!, but hot glue can work as well. Can I sell copies of this? Yes! This project was shared under the Creative Commons - Attribution license.
